The Transparency Organization ranked Iran 130th out of 180 countries, last year. It said that the regime has low transparency and high corruption.

Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, compared corruption to a seven-headed dragon, saying if you cut one head off, you’re still left with another six.

Some believe this statement to mean that he’s actually accusing the Supreme Leader. Khamenei, however, appears to hold Iranian President Rouhani responsible.

On Monday, regime affiliated Keyhan Daily wrote that the parliament economic commission chairman announced, “In the final months of 2017, 30 billion dollars worth of Iranian currency was taken out of the country.”

The deputy chief of justice, Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Eje’i, arrested 13 individuals in connection with corruption. He alleged that the individuals arrested for illegal exchange, corrupt financial dealings, and illicit trading of vehicles.

An online media headline recently announced, “Mighty Corruption File of the Past 25 Years,” and revealed a 123 billion Toman embezzlement that occurred in the early 1970’s. While this was a shock to the Iranian people, another corruption case from a few years later was also uncovered, this one for 3,000 billion Toman, which set a new record.

2013 saw a fraud involving oil shipments, that was worth 2.7 billion euro. In 2015, an oil rig went missing that was worth $124 million. Then again, in 2016, corruption was discovered from the Teacher’s Investment Fund and Capital Bank worth 8 thousand billion Toman.
