Tasnim news agency wrote that the large-scale drills of the “Payambar-e Azam 11, or “The Great Prophet”, are to be performed over two stages which will include artillery, air defense, drone, infantry and air force units.

According to Tasnim, striking enemy positions with “advanced and smart rockets,” will comprise the first phase of the exercises. No further details have been offered.

Brig. Gen. Mohammad Pakpour, the commander of the IRGC Ground Force, announced on Saturday that the two-phase military drills will be staged in east and northeast Iran, and test-firing of advanced rockets will be held the central areas of the country, according to media reports.

Tehran conducted a ballistic missile test on January 29, leading the United States to put Iran “on notice”, as this action is believed to be a violation of UN resolutions and the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). The United States later demanded that Iran refrain from nuclear-capable missile activity.

Iran denies the allegations that any resolutions were violated.
